Everything We Know about Marvel’s Upcoming ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics characters of the same name. Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige, it is the third installment of the Ant-Man franchise and a sequel to 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania follows Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) as he teams up with Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer). They must confront a dangerous new enemy, Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors), in order to save the world from destruction. Along for this mission are two new characters, Cassie Lang (Emma Fuhrmann) and Kate Bishop (Kathryn Newton), who provide additional muscle for this mission.
The events of Avengers: Endgame saw Scott Lang travel through time in order to acquire past versions of himself to help defeat Thanos. During his travels he stumbled upon a version of himself living in an alternate timeline – one where Kang had taken over Earth. After returning home, Scott discovers that Kang has been searching through time for him so that he can use him to unlock secrets that will allow him access to even more powerful weapons. This sets off a race against time as Scott, Hope, Hank and Janet must prevent Kang from unlocking these secrets which could prove disastrous for their world.
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania promises epic action sequences as our heroes battle Kang’s forces while trying to keep their own secrets hidden at all costs. In addition to Rudd’s comedic charm as Ant-Man, Lilly brings her character’s no-nonsense attitude to life with her portrayal as The Wasp – her acrobatic fighting style being particularly impressive in earlier trailers for the movie. Michael Douglas’ portrayal of Hank Pym also provides heart amidst all of the action – never missing an opportunity to inject some humor into any given situation.
This movie also marks Michelle Pfeiffer’s return as Janet Van Dyne – fans eagerly await her return after having seen her brief appearance in the second Ant-Man film. Her character is integral to both understanding Scott’s motivations while also providing assistance when needed with her experience from traversing between dimensions during her years lost in space; it will be interesting how she is able to contribute to the team’s mission despite having returned without many of her powers intact after coming back from years spent in another dimension
Kathryn Newton returns as Cassie Lang – daughter of our main protagonist Scott Lang – adding an extra edge during fight scenes due to her adept combat skills which she developed during her training with Clint Barton/Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner). Finally we have Jonathan Majors joining the cast in his role as villain Kang – initially only known by his alias Nathaniel Richards – who brings chaos wherever he goes while seeking out powerful artifacts throughout time & space; causing mayhem wherever they go while attempting to complete their mission.
There are high expectations surrounding Marvel’s upcoming movie Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania – excitement surrounding its unique blend of comedy, action & adventure have been building since its announcement back in 2019. Fans cannot wait until they can get a glimpse at what Peyton Reed has created but until then they will just have hope that this latest installment lives up its predecessors & creates another memorable experience like no other!
